Memorial Table

This is a more complete photo of the display.

Not everything is visible here that was on the table.  Off to the left was his ordination certificate and copies of his book, "A New Look at the Everlasting Gospel".  We had stacks of those to give away, but still ended up taking a bunch home.  At the very far right were several booklets Dad had made for us that contained either family history or newspaper articles he had written for the Pastor's Corner for the local newspaper.  There was the scrapbook of people's memories which are posted on this blog and there was a plaque I had made him a long time ago as a joke.  I'll make a post about that later.

Other items in the center included his harmonicas and ocarina.  He loved to play those.  The big book is a book of Baptist History.  It is an antique that he found in a second hand store.  When he came out of the store he was grinning from ear to ear and said he would of mortgaged the house for that book if he had too.  As it was he bought it for $25 if my memory serves me right.

A copy of the music for Ship Ahoy was also displayed.  It was one of his favorite songs.  Wes Sorstokke sang it for the memorial.  It was beautiful.

His well worn, duct-taped together Greek New Testament lays open in the center.

He loved sports and the baseball caps represented his love of the Cougars.

Also by the hats were some things related to when they went to the home mission field.

Please feel free to add memories in the comment sections. I am moderating all comments and will copy and paste them into a new post so they don't get lost in the comments sections.

If you remember any quaint sayings my Dad used to say, please send them to me. I would like to make a post of his funny sayings.
