What a blessing
Cordell was to me and my family while we were in Walla Walla so many years ago.
He and Virginia had just moved there and began attending Calvary Baptist Church
which I had just begun to serve as pastor. I believe he had more pastoral
experience then than I had years yet he very patiently sat through my sermons,
enthusiastically encouraged my leadership, and graciously allowed me to use him
as a sounding board. He was a servant through and through not only as a pastor
but also in his retirement as a Sunday School teacher and even a deacon at
Calvary. His agenda was not his own but Christ's. His ambitions were not of his
own making but God's. A more humble pastor I don't think I have ever known. In
his loss may our Lord's comfort be yours in overflowing abundance as you wait
for heaven and never ever say good bye again.

If you remember any quaint sayings my Dad used to say, please send them to me. I would like to make a post of his funny sayings.
