From Gloria Leque

I will always remember Pastor Baker's kindness to me when I was struggling through a very painful time in my life.  He knew that I and my two daughters needed to get away for a little while, so he made all the arrangements to send us to Camp Gilead for the week.  Sharon and I as kitchen helpers and Julie as a camper -- of course I can't give Sharon the title "kitchen helper" as she was joining in the fun with the rest of the campers.  It was kind of like the Bible story of Mary and Martha - Martha was busy in the kitchen and Mary? - Mary entertained.
That week of camp was just what we needed -- God blessed us with lots of prayer time, devotions each morning and then just being in fellowship with other believers.
I thank God for Cordell -- there's so much that could be said - his sound Bible teaching/preaching, his faithfulness, his time and energies building GBC, along with all the other.
He was a great man of God and I wonder when he entered heaven that Jesus was there to greet him -- wrapped His arms around him and said "well done".

If you remember any quaint sayings my Dad used to say, please send them to me. I would like to make a post of his funny sayings.
